There's a rumour that it's a fashion faux pas to wear denim-on-denim..I've got something to tell you - it's not a faux pas. This S/S denim is the fabric to dress yourself head-to-toe. When it concerns denim - the more the better! Layering denim is the way to fashionable success this season. Denim is your new best friend, so get well aquainted!
Michael Kors killed the runway with denim-on-denim looks. I loved this look from the S/S15 collection. Fashion can be restricting - tight clothes, bodycon and Kim Kardashian-inspired wardrobes have been all the rage on the streets. However, Michael Kors showed us that fashion can be both casual and chic. With a tailored structure, this denim two-piece is something made by the heavens. I love the blocking of brown, breaking down the all-blue appearance of denim. The slim belt hangs as an accessory to gently draw the eye towards the waistline and the cropped denim jacket is oh-so casual but smart because of its tailoring. Buy tailored denim pieces to give your S/S denim look a smart, effortless edge inspired by Michael Kors.
Gucci made denim the must-have on its S/S15 catwalk. Similarly structured, this skirt and shirt two piece is the perfect duo. Denim has been made smart with the addition of the gold button detailing and angular two-tone collar piece and belt straps. Shaming the 90's interpretation of all denim outfits and showing them how it's done, the denim trend officially became one of my favourite S/S15 looks.
(Here's a friendly reminder of denim's haunted past..)
